If you have purchased a ticket on Air New Zealand or selected Star Alliance carriers you may be able to use your Airpoints Dollars™ to upgrade.
From 12 July 2012 to purchase an upgrade using Airpoints Dollars, Airpoints Gold, Silver and Jade members will need to request a OneUp™ upgrade. Gold Elite members will still be able to request one class Standby Upgrades at current fixed rates.

Airpoints Standby Upgrades will continue to be available for Gold Elite members to purchase using Airpoints Dollars on Air New Zealand ticketed and operated flights. Confirmed Upgrades will no longer be available from 12 July 2012.
Upgrades are not available on Air New Zealand flights operated by Virgin Australia.
Confirmed Star Alliance upgrades may also be available on participating Star Alliance carriers.
