Visitors to Bags-it.co.uk stand to 'bags' bargain flights to New Zealand.
The new innovative reverse auction site Bags-it is back on Tuesday 16 June and Air New Zealand are offering holiday makers the opportunity to grab return flights to New Zealand for a steal. Some buyers in the first Bags-it, which offered return fares to Hong Kong, walked away with flights that cost £149 including taxes.
Sales on Bags-it, for the first airline reverse auction of return economy class flights to New Zealand will start at 12 noon (GMT) on Tuesday and continue through the afternoon until all the flights available have been sold. Flights to be sold are limited. Taking part is simple. Flights on the site will begin to reduce in price by random increments, and at random times, from midday on Tuesday. The trick is knowing when to buy. Holding out too long could mean that someone else will get ahead and "Bags-it" first. Buy too early and you'll be missing out on that all important bargain!
Scott Carr, Air New Zealand General Manager, UK and Europe, comments: "We introduced the very first Bags-it to UK customers last month and received an overwhelming amount of interest. 100 flights to and from Hong Kong were auctioned and all the tickets were 'bagged' within eight hours. The most steely nerved buyers picked up a fare of just £149 including taxes - nearly 60% off the starting price on the day. If customers can hold their nerve, they could find themselves taking that trip of a lifetime for only a fraction of the price".
Continues Scott: "Bags-it has been a great success - if you miss out on this occasion there will be other chances to take part with more reverse auctions to come although the destination may change. This time the flights are to Auckland, maybe next time it will be Los Angeles? The joy of Bags-it is the great value flights and also the spontaneity it demands from our customers. If you're prepared to hang in there you can have a trip of a lifetime for an absolute bargain!"
For individuals looking to take part simply log on to www.bags-it.co.uk from 12 noon (GMT) on Tuesday 16 June - the day of the auction - and get ready to nab a great deal!
