Air New Zealand has appointed Kathryn Gregory as the airline's new marketing manager, Europe, based in London. Gregory will report directly to Scott Carr, general manager Europe.
Gregory has an established career within aviation, having spent 15 years working with bmi in sales, revenue and marketing positions. For the last eight years she had a variety of marketing roles, leaving the airline as head of advertising responsible for all bmi's consumer campaigns within the UK and Ireland.
She leads a team of three with responsibility for direct marketing, consumer advertising, trade communications and e-commerce marketing for the UK and Continental Europe. In addition she will be working closely with key industry and trade partners such as Star Alliance, Tourism New Zealand, Hong Kong Tourist Board, LACVB as well as Air New Zealand's UK advertising agency Fox Kalomaski.
Air New Zealand has recently doubled its capacity out of the UK, with the launch of a second daily service to Auckland via Hong Kong in October 2006 making Air New Zealand the only airline offering round the world flights out of the UK on the same airline.
"This is an amazingly exciting time to join Air New Zealand," comments Gregory.
"On top of the new route, the airline has also well and truly bedded in the new long haul product which has been fantastically received by the trade and customers alike. Our new Pacific Premium Economy class seating has already been increased from 23 seats to 31 since its launch, and later this year a further eight seats will be added making a total of 39 Pacific Premium Economy seats on our flights from London."
She takes over the reins from Christie Lord who left the airline in November 2006.
