Air New Zealand Expands Code Share Relationship with Air Canada

21 May 2003

Air New Zealand will expand its current code share relationship with Air Canada as from 5 June, to include seating on Air Canada flights between Vancouver and Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto and Vancouver and Calgary.

The move to include Toronto and Montreal will provide a link between the east and west coasts of Canada, while Calgary provides a link to the important Alberta province. The new arrangement will complement current code share services to these cities from Los Angeles.

Air New Zealand already code shares with Air Canada between Los Angeles and Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal as well as between Honolulu and Vancouver.

New Zealand has become an increasingly popular destination for Canadian tourists. Visitor arrivals from Canada into New Zealand for 12 months to March 2003 were 39,000 of which nearly 15,000 came from the east coast of Canada and 5,400 came from Alberta.
