Experience Hong Kong
Hong Kong is perhaps East Asia's most extraordinary city - it's hard not to enjoy the energy of its street life. The urban panorama of sky-scrapered Hong Kong Island, seen across the harbour from Kowloon, is stunning, and you'll find a surprising wealth of undeveloped rural areas within easy commuter range of the hectic centre.
The island of Hong Kong offers not only traces of the old colony - from English place names to ancient, double-decker trams trundling along the shore - but also superb modern cityscapes of towering buildings as well as opportunities for hiking and perhaps surprisingly lying on the beaches of its southern shore. Kowloon, in particular its southernmost tip, Tsim Sha Tsui, is where many visitors end up staying. It also boasts more shops offering a greater variety of goods per square kilometre than anywhere in the world!
No trip to Hong Kong would be complete without a visit to Giant Buddha atop Ngong Ping plateau amid the spectacular mountain scenery of Lantau Island - keep a bottle of water on hand for a much needed drink after your 200 step climb.
Hong Kong boasts not only a superb native cuisine - Cantonese - but also perhaps the widest range of international restaurants of any city outside Europe. The local Chinese take their dining very seriously whether it is the breakfast institution dim sum, to sushi bars, pub-style food, sophisticated Southeast Asian cuisine, pizzerias or cheap noodle houses - the taste-bud tempting variety is endless.
Discover the myriad of things to see and do in one of the most diverse and exciting destinations in the world - book your flight to Hong Kong now.
