Fare Rules
Valid on Air New Zealand operated aircraft only. Not allowed on NZ4000-4999 and NZ 9000-9999. Valid for selected one way/round trip/circle trip/open jaw journeys within New Zealand, between New Zealand and Australia and the Pacific Islands.
Flight Application: Travel must be completed within the validity of the international ticket. Exception: when arrival commences on a one way ticket, travel on the Star Alliance South Pacific Airpass must be completed within 30 days of arrival in that country.
Eligibility: Available to non residents of New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Tonga, New Caledonia, Norfolk, Samoa, Rarotonga and Tahiti. Must be sold in conjunction with a Star Alliance international ticket to the country from which the pass commences. Only one pass permitted per passenger.
Minimum/Max Coupon Requirement: Minimum of 2 coupons must be purchased, maximum of 10 coupons. Additional coupons may be purchased (up to a maximum of 10) after arrival in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Tonga, New Caledonia, Norfolk, Samoa, Rarotonga or Tahiti at Air New Zealand offices.
Min/Max Stay: No minimum stay. Maximum stay is up to validity of the international ticket.
Booking Class: Book in T class for TSTAR and H class for HSTAR fares.
Children: Children's levels (2-11 years) are 75% of the adult fares, infants (under 2) pay 10% of the adult fare.
Reservations: Open dated sectors permitted on all but the first sector. Waitlist not permitted. Changes permitted.
Ticketing: Tickets must be issued outside New Zealand, Australia or the Pacific Islands. Must be cross referenced to the international ticket. Pre paid tickets (PTA) are permitted providing they are issued outside of New Zealand, Australia and Pacific Islands.
Changes: Permitted for revalidation. Between zones: fare may be upgraded to the next zone subject to payment of the airfare differential. Within the zones: fare may be upgraded from Q to H class subject to availability and payment of fare differential. If re-issue is required, a service fee of 60 NZD will apply at Air New Zealand offices.
Combinations: TSTAR may be combined with HSTAR on the same ticket subject to the minimum coupon requirement.
Stopovers: No stopovers permitted. The applicable TSTAR/HSTAR charge will be applied to each sector flown. Transfers to next immediate connection permitted.
Taxes/Surcharges: Applicable taxes and surcharges are additional to any international fares.
Cancellation and Refunds: Before departure: full refund from place of purchase. After departure: 1) If the minimum coupon requirement has been availed for travel, any unused coupons may be refunded in full. 2) If the minimum coupon requirement has not been availed, the refund if any will be the difference between the fare paid and the applicable economy class fare for the journey flown.
