Baggage Allowance - Gold and Gold Elite
Baggage allowance - domestic
Our normal baggage allowance domestically is one bag for Smart Saver fares and two bags Flexi Plus fares (free, up to 25kgs), but Gold Elite and Gold members, can take another bag up to 25kgs at no extra charge.
Baggage allowance - international
Gold Elite and Gold members can check in 20kg more than the standard baggage allowance. So for Economy fares, these members can take 40kg and for Business they can take 50kg.
The exception is if you're flying to, from or through the United States. Here, instead of the usual two pieces, Gold Elite and Gold members can take three pieces of luggage, weighing up to 23kg each, in Economy and Premium Economy, and 32kg each in Business Premier.
Cabin Baggage allowance - domestic and international
Gold Elite and Gold members can take two pieces of cabin baggage and it doesn't matter what class they are flying in, so long as it is on an Air New Zealand flight. They just need to make sure that each bag or item is under 115cm in size (length+height+width) and weighs less than 7kg.
However, for flights to, from and through the USA and/or UK, you're only allowed to take one piece of cabin baggage. Again, that bag or item needs to be under 115cm and less than 7kg.
Priority Check-in - Gold and Gold Elite
Gold and Gold Elite members can check-in at the Business Class counter when travelling on an Air New Zealand ticketed or operated flight, regardless of the class of travel. When travelling on a flight operated by a Star Alliance airline you are entitled to check-in at the Star Alliance Gold designated counter.
Priority Baggage Claim - Gold and Gold Elite
Where possible you will be amongst the first to collect your baggage off each Air New Zealand-operated flight and most Star Alliance airline operated flights.
